the sandisk lacks a major feature compared to the pilot - bluetooth support.

another feature it lacks compared to the pilot is the ability to browse files in their native file/folder format. while certainly not as major as BT, for some it's a significant difference.

for those who use online "music stores", the sandisk is limited to bestbuy's digital music store, while the pilot supports not only bb's offering, rhapsody|rhapsody to go as well as iTunes (the sandisk also doesn't list mac compatibility at all, while the insignia model does), not to mention the Pilot supports more audio formats.

there are even more features the Pilot offers over the View which I haven't even covered.

while imo the sandisk is certainly more stylish, it simply does not offer anywhere near the feature set of the Pilot. further, you can currently purchase the Pilot online @ BB for $151 - if the pricing wasn't moot before, it certainly is now.

The $152 price w/free S&H is no longer active.
Back to $160 as of 1 December, 2007
