My zen is not recognized on my Vista 32bit.

It says the MTP devices failed and I have WMP11 already. For some reason I can not delete it though or reinstall it, says I don't have permission for some reason even though im on my administration account I believe. I also already tried downloading the MTP device root thingie and it still does not recognize my zen. Oh and I did install everything that came with the cd.

I think I read someone had to right click and select "run as administrator" for the device installation when they encountered this problem, but I'm not sure. You might also try uninstalling all of Creative's software and rebooting your computer.

Well I don't see any button that says run as administrator and I already tried uninstalling/installing and rebooting my computer.

You should not have had to install anything for the Zen to work on Vista. If you have installed any Creative software, remove it. Reboot, plug your player in, open Device Manager, and remove the device that shows up representing your player (completely uninstall it). Reboot again, and plug in your player. It should be recognized now.

If that still doesn't work, then boot your player into Recovery Mode, and perform both a Disk Cleanup and a Reformat. Reboot the player and try plugging it in again.

Ah I tried what you said but it still doesn't work.

When I connect it, I see the docking sign on the zen for only like a second and then it just shows the main menu and my computer said MTP Device has failed.

Okay, this sounds like a possible firmware problem. Just to confirm, do you have another computer you can try your player on?
