battery problems...

i have a big problem with charging my battery.

when i connect the usb-cable the player starts charging for something between 1 second a 5 minutes - and then suddenly stops charging.

i have Win XP SP2. but i tried it with my laptop - the same problem!

could someone help me?

There are a few things I would try.

1) Use a different cable, if one is immediately available.
2) Perform a shutdown by holding the power button in the off position for 15-20 seconds (...if I remember correctly).
3) Run the View until the battery is completely dead, and then try to recharge.
4) Exchange the player. If the problem is hardware related (capacitor or battery) there is nothing you can do about it. Grab a new player so you can start listening to your music.

1. i haven´t a second cable
2. yeah! great! that works! .....i thought ;-(
3. no change....
4. this will be my solution

after restarting with "20sec off" the player is charging - all the time.
but now i have a new probelm - the battery only reachs 39% - it is not possible to reach 100%.
in the display is the sign for charging (the little flash) is on. but nothing happens.

How do you know the exact percent charge? I do not think I saw that anywhere, just the little green battery icon. My view is the 8 GB model.

in the explorer (win xp) you just have to "right-click" --> "properties" on the sansa view.
there you can seethe exact percentage.

this works NOT in MSC-mode!
