Typically, I have the View plugged into my car's 12V outlet. As soon as I turn the car ON the View automatically turns ON as well (even though I always turn it OFF after use). Do the other Sansas behave this way as well? What triggers the View to turn ON?
But what I really would like to happen is that when I turn the car OFF the View would turn OFF too. Is that possible? |

I have seen car with the 12V cigarette lighter jacks turn on when you turn on the car and off when you turn off your car. So it might be normal for the View to turn on when it sees power going to it.

My 12V outlet is not Always On, i.e. it has current only when the car is in ACC mode. Still:
1. Do other Sansas turn ON automatically when there's current at the charge port? 2. Can the View be configured to turn OFF automatically when that current stops? |

1) I know my e200R does turn on with only power.
2) I don't think so, but I do not have a View to know. |

There is a setting to shut down after a certain period of time. I think.

To be safe, I always turn my unit off manually before getting out of the car. It's a bit of a pain, and sometimes I forget. |
