Hi.
As the thread title suggests, I was wondering if there was a way of rating the songs that are in my Zen Vision:M via my PC? Maybe through some sort of software? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I'm pretty sure that if you use Windows Media Player to manage your library and sync to your player, you can rate songs on WMP and the ratings will sync to your player.
I haven't actually tried it myself, so I think I will next time I'm ready to sync.

Yep, just confirmed it myself as well. Put another check in the block for WMP!

This is great news! I've been pondering for a few weeks now if I should get a flash MP3 player (many choices) or go straight for a HDD player (Zen Vision:M being my only choice) and this might be one of the things that will sway me towards the Vision:M. I have 1,100+ songs on WMP and all are rated. Plus, with the other brilliant features of the Vision:M I think I'm very close to a solid decision.

You won't be disappointed! Pretty much the only thing working against the ZVM is the fact that it's discontinued, so it might be hard to find. If you do get one, just be sure to update to the latest firmware version available on Creative's support site.

For syncing, is it required for you to copy all files into your PC HDD?
EDIT: BTW, thanks for the responses guys.

The idea of "syncing" usually includes at least two locations for files to either be a source or a destination. Usually the PC is the source and the ZVM is the destination. However, the sync to and from setting can usually be adjusted within the syncing software you use. In case you want to reverse the sync.
