First, a big caveat. I modded my Vision:M 30GB with a 60GB hard drive a month ago. So there is a good chance that what I am about to say doesn't apply to the general Zen owner. In other words, YMMV . . .
Since the mod, I have dropped my Zen twice. (I had never dropped it before.) Both times the unit became stuck, wouldn't power off, was unresponsive. I got it into recovery mode and after that was able to power it off, but could not get it to power on normally, it would always go into recovery mode and stay that way. The first time this happened, I opened up the unit and reseated the hard drive ZIF connecter and viola, it was fine. The second time this happened (this morning), same story. Hope this helps! Lee |

Thanks for the post. This worked for me! Reseat the Hard Drive ZIF connector!

Yeh, i've had to do this once. I assume the new hard drive is a Toshiba as they are the ones that don't quite fit properly.
