Default DC in adapter - 4.5v and 500mA

Hi!

Read some threads, and found out that up to 2.5 amps is suitable. But what about 4.5v and 500mA (0.5amps)? And how to check whether the inside is positive or negative. With a multimeter?

-edit-

I took a picture, and it seems to me, that it's suitable. But I need someone elses word to confirm it. :P

Per the output specs, it should be just fine. I would still make sure it is of good quality.

Per you picture, the polarity symbol is showing that the middle is positive and the outside is negative.

So, if you have checked the FAQ section for this, you can see that this adapter does meet the requirements.

Using a Multimeter, you place the ground (black) probe on the outside and the positive (red) probe on the inside.

Unfortunately it doesn't work. When I plug it in, the player does nothing.

Did you test it with the multimeter to see if it even works? If it does work, it may not be working that good anymore or not putting out a sustained voltage, which many adapters don't do.
