Hello,
I upgraded from 1.71 KR to 2.0 KR and now my T10 does not start anymore. It still sais "Hello <name>" and shows the background image but nothing more. When connecting to USB the arrow keys are flashing but the T10 can't be detected!! Is there something I can do to rescue my T10? Regards, foxx |

Have you tried the reset button on the back or maybe a format, although I guess that won't work if it's not detected by SMS.

Yes, I used the reset button but it simply restarts the player... But I saw, that the player still establishs a usb connection but the UMS (and as well MTP) protocol does not work anymore so I have no idea how to transfer files to the T10. On Windows I hear a "gong" and on Linux I see the player with the "lusb" terminal command:
Code:
Bus 005 Device 010: ID 04e8:5089 Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd Is there anyone who also destroyed the firmware and used the Samsung support? How much does that costs? If it costs more than about 60 € (about 94 $) it's not alternative for me. Regards, foxx |

try this:
http://haxx.rockbox.org/utils/tcctool/ I remember reading in a post somewhere that it recovers messed up firmware for the t10, p2, and a couple of other players. Don't even bother sending in your player for repair. I cracked my screen and tey were going to charge me like $85. Which is almost enough for me to get a new player. I would say be careful with this thing, but it really doesn't matter what you do anyway. NINJA EDIT: two useful threads: http://anythingbutipod.com/forum/sho...d.php?p=223317 http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...d.php?p=218634 http://anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23121 <-----and of course my own awesome tut. lol |

Big thanks for you help but to use the recovery tools I have to install the recovery-inf-driver chipped with the tool and I'm unable to find my T10 in the Windows device manager... Is there a tool/way to bether find the USB devices and change the driver? In the Windows device manager I only find "USB mass storage" and no more understandable information on Linux I find the following:
Bus 005 Device 010: ID 04e8:5089 Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd(as I told already) I also asked Samsung via mail but I don't think that they will answer. I send a mail to them about 1/2 year ago and never got an answer - why should it be different with the new message? Regards, foxx |

Today I tried to fix my player with Windows XP and Windows Vista - on both system (Fresh install) I have the same problem: When connection the T10 its detected as usb mass storage and the system is "hanging" a bit. All applications accessing the storage devices are freezing but most of them get back after several seconds up to minutes waiting.
On Vista the secure hardware removal tool sais that the T10 is mounted as J:/ but J isnt visible with the Explorer (freeze....). On XP there is the possibility to change the driver of the device to something else but everytime it sais that the inf file isn't compatible to the device (used the p2unbrick and tcctool, both do not work). Maybe these tools are for MTP only? Please - help me - am I the only T10 owner with a broken firmware? |

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!
I got it ![]() I used the tutorial on http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ad.php?t=26367 to flash my T10 with 2.0 EU (MTP) and afterwards I was able to access it with MTP - veeeerrryy slow but it worked. With this slow connection I formated the player and copied the 2.0 EU again to upgrade it completely (including the RSC file). Now it works perfectly with MTP and now I try switching to UMS again but if it breaks I know now how to unbrick it. Cheers! foxx |
