Data connection without charging?
I connect my S618F to PCs repeatedly throughout the day to transfer songs and data. I would like to avoid the constant charging to minimize battery wear and tear. Is this even possible? Perhaps a modified USB cable without the +5v line? Or some kind of adaptor?

I don't think charging puts wear and tear on the battery, li-ion batteries are ALWAYS degrading, even if they are sitting somewhere for a long time, it's still degrading.
(at least I think)
