Deleting songs from a NWZ A818

My Zune will automatically delete a song from the player if I delete the song from my computer/folder.....which I hate! My question is, will the Sony do the same thing, or will it only delete the song if I tell it to. I love the idea of drag and drop, but havent seen any info on how songs are deleted from this MP3 player.

You know, you can prevent the Zune from doing that too I believe!

#1 The Sony players will not have the music deleated from the player if you remove the music from your computer.
#2 Unless the 2.5 update corrected this the music, no matter what, was always deleted from my Zune whenever removed from my comp (personally, I thought it was a +). And I've had a Zune 30 & 80.
#3 As for deleting music from Sony players it must be done through the comp. Either using a syncing prog (WMP11 (HATE IT), MediaMonkey, J.River), or by accessing the folder structure of the player.

Thanks for the reply. So, if I use the drag and drop method to add, how would I delete the files? Also, which do you like better...your Zune or the Sony?

And the 2.5 update did not correct this.

Go into the player in the music folder and just highlight and delete.
I sold my Zune 30, returned the Zune 80 cause it doesn't have an eq (I would still have it too), and my S618 bricked and I was a fool!!! Should have gotten an extended warranty.
As for which I liked best - the capacity of the Zune is a draw, but I guess I'm partial to Sony. I'm looking into getting a NWZ-A729 or A829 by weeks end. Now, there is not a real thing I could find wrong w/the Zune, it's a really great player. And, with games and added features it's becoming the complete package. I just need smaller players w/flash. HD really isn't for me. + I love the SQ of my D2 & really, the only player that can compare to the D2 IS the SONY LINEUP (IMO). This isn't gospel, just how I feel.

You delete files by pressing the mysterious button called "delete" on the keyboard Drag and drop means you control everything, not some poorly designed app that thinks for you

This thing is sounding better and better evevry minute! I might have to take the Zune back and get me one of these!

I'll give an honest, biased opinion: the Sony and Cowon players are the best sounding - PERIOD!!! On second thought, I'm gonna wait for the Sony's to hit the "sweet spot" of 32gb and then make a move. My D2 sounds so good it doesn't warrant me jumping ship. I'm rockin' 24gb now - to go for a smaller capacity when, in my case, there isn't a real benefit is foolish. But, to reiterate, the Sony's sound sweet and are worth it (if you DON'T already have a D2 OR iAudio7).

Final post on my part before I get crucified: IMO the sq of the Sony is better than the Zunes!!!

PS: Now that I've made a commited statement know this - I'm a MARKED MAN!!!
