durability of the faceplate?

When I had the e250 i really disliked how the faceplate was just flimsy. heard too many stories of it cracking as well, so i returned it. i was wondering how it is with the fuze? is it using similar material/thickness or is it more durable?

and 1 more question - does the fuze have a clock feature?

I haven't had any other sansa model so I can't compare, but the entire unit seems relatively solid and sturdy to me. There is very little 'creaking' or 'groaning' of the plastic when you put pressure on the faceplate (keeping the pressure within reason of course) or when you try to flex/twist the unit lightly.

There is a digital display of the time in the bottom left corner. No alarm/auto-on functionality, tho.

I agree with guarhoth - it seems to be very sturdy to me. It has a nice feel to it as well. The silver color of the 8GB is excellent for minimizing fingerprints and scratches.

The only clock feature appears to be the one pictured o my Fuze 8gb's display...

also, the construction of the Fuze s far superior to the (original) Sansa E2xx.

yeah, that's all i need from a clock feature.. as long as it displays time accurately.

DaHarder: I see that you own a S10, clip, and the fuze. I was actually deciding between those three.. pretty much leaning towards the fuze right now but what are your opinions on these players? I do have the S10 right now but it's scheduled to be shipped back to the store sometime during this week.

The FUSE (even with it's mediocre video support) is a clear winner...

That's where my money would go.

I just bought my 8gb Fuze at Bestbuy this weekend. I agree with others; it is a really great choice.

Favorite Things about the Fuze
- changeable background colors (3 shades of blue, light green, light brown/ orange, and light purple/pink)
- bookmark capabilities (in audio books and videos)
- very fast interface, at least compared to e200 series
- quick (although not instant) power on
- great build quality and appealing form factor
- (for at least the Silver 8gb model) it doesn't show dust or scratches
