Default Anyway to find out the problem before buying more parts?

I bought a new battery because I thought mine was bad. My last battery would start charging (blinking blue light) with the battery icon the upper right corner. It would eventually turn on booting up, going to the main screen, but after scrolling about a little the screen would go blank and die out. I tried wall charging and it would never charge either. I eventually bought a new battery(from abi.com) and installed it, but now all I get is a blinking blue light but never any power or battery icon symbol(after many hours of charging). I want to know if there is anyway to find out what's wrong with it before I drop anymore $$$ on trying to fix something that's not the problem. Thanks for any help.

Hello Empeethree! Welcome to ABI. It is possible you got another depleted battery. The ZVM's have been out a few years and so has the batteries. Any chance you have a multimeter around to do a voltage reading on the battery? Since it is new and if it tests good, you may also have a problem with the mainboard that may not be allowing a battery charge (bad charging circuit, fuse, diode, trace, etc.). If so, most likely a new mainboard would be needed to repair. How long have you been charging it and how? What are the output specs of the AC charger you have used?

It is possible that the battery I bought is not good, even though I bought it from this website. When I put in my old battery I get the battery icon in the upper right hand corner and sometimes even the boot up screen for a second. With the new battery I don' t get anything, not even the icon. I think a neighbor of mine has a voltage meter that I can use to check.

Yeah, it sounds like the new battery is more depleeted than the old battery. If it is too discharged, it may not take a charge at all.

That would be good to try. Let us know....
