greetings! new member here. ordered an a818. wondering if i can adapt it to my ipod-based fm transmitter for my wofk truck ( no cd, cassette deck or line in) or will i have to buy a sony type transmitter? thanx

any fm adaptor that uses a headphone plug and is powered from either battery or ciggy lighter will work.

There have been many people here asking to adapt players to ipod accessories - the answer is "NO". Unless you'd like to fry your player. Sorry there couldn't be a solution for you. Only cassette adapters or FM transmitters ATM.

depends on the power source. if it only can handle power from a special ipod connector then yes it won't work. otherwise if it uses just the headphone plug then its all good.

The OP is asking if ipod accessories will work w/his Sony A818 & it makes no difference of the power source. The OP is looking to connect it to the proprietary connector on the bottom of the Sony. He/she is not interested in a transmitter or a cassette adapter.
