Default My ZVM is behaving erratically!

I've got this problem with my Zen...

I have owned it for a little less then a year.

first of all there's been a problem from the start...

that's when I am browsing on shuffle mode, and go too fast, it will freeze...

well that's not the main complain I have.

All of a sudden, It decided to do everything i didn't want him to do.

when I scroll up, It will scroll down, and when I scroll down, It'll scroll up!:S

and of course there's the most common problem there is... my computer doesn't detect my player!

I bought a adapter, and that does work, so the problem must be in the usb connection, but I haven't found out what the problem is...

hope someone has an answer for me

I changed the thread title because, while the old one was pretty descriptive, it just wasn't quite appropriate.

It sounds like a firmware problem. However, if your computer isn't able to detect your player, that poses a real problem.

Let's try a couple of things before we do anything more drastic. I need you to boot your player into Recovery Mode. Try scrolling up and down the menu a few times to see if it scrolls properly. If it does, try doing a Disk Cleanup, then reboot. See how it works then.

Hello binnist. Welcome!

In addition to the Cleanup suggested (and possible reloading of the firmware), since you will have the ZVM booted into Recovery Mode, connect the ZVM to the computer and see if it gets detected the same way?

Good to hear you got it back to working. You may want to check out ZenChick's FAQ's on the ZVM here. Enjoy!

What is listed in Device manager for the ZVM? Is it loading correctly; no error?

So your player is detected by your computer while in Recovery Mode? This is good. If this is so, and if your touchpad is also scrolling properly in Recovery Mode, then do a Disk Cleanup from Recovery Mode.
