ROFL LOL & and all such emoticons problem solved for the moment, my pal had come to my home and he said that he was sure that the problem was NOT because of the seal. so today i went to get them repaired in a Creative service centre. they said that they didn't have a repair section but only a replacement section and that too for products purchased from India. disappointed, i decided to buy a new set of earphones but it was already too late, so i returned home. i called a friend and told this problem, he advised me to pour a drop of Spirit (Isopropyl Alcohol) into the earphones and just gently blow into them. i did exactly that and to my surprise the sound quality was restored
 i think some dust/ ear wax must have seeped into the phones since i have the habit of inserting the buds without cleaning my ears after a bath. anyway me very happy and i am glad that i didn't buy another set.thanks for all the advice and suggestions. you guys rawk.
