I am pretty convinced on the Fuze! My final question is this!
I have 3 diffent e260's and all of them seem to have the same problem with the shuffle function, which is, the tendency to repeat songs from the playlist rather then always choose a song that has yet to be played!!!! I have asked on here before about this problem and was told it was mainly a firmware bug they never got around to fixing! This is my biggest concern with the FUZE! Does the FUZE shuffle the music on a playlist without repeating songs? I sure hope that it does that was my biggest complaint about the e200 series. I know that Apple IPOD's do not repeat songs on a playlist when in shuffle mode so if a MONOPOLY like APPLE can do it i think SANSA should be able to as well!!! |

The shuffle function was updated in the latest firmware. Originally, it would pick the next track at random after the end of each song. This meant it could pick the same song more than once. Also, you couldn't skip back to the last song as it would always pick a random song when skipping forward or backward.
Now it's a true shuffle where it builds a temporary playlist, shuffles it, then plays it back from top to bottom. This prevents duplicates and also solved the issue with skipping back to previous songs. Now you can skip backward and forward in the same order as the songs were played. |

Yes, the main memory and card are integrated into a single database, so if you "play all" with shuffle, you will get songs from both.
Note, however, that playlists you create yourself (from Winamp or WMP for example) can only contain songs from the memory on which the playlist is located. |
