Display Problem

I'm sure this is an isolated incident, but the display on my pilot stopped working. All the colors inverted themselves, so the dark gray background was white, all the text was black, etc. After a minute, the display only shows black with the backlight trying to shine through. I was wondering if anybody else had this problem, and more importantly if there is a way to fix it without getting a new one.

I kept using my pilot to see if it would randomly decide to work, since it randomly decided to stop working. Once in a while, the screen would work perfectly, and other times it would be really weird. Parts of the display would look like it was in a mirror, while other parts of the screen would be the way it should be. Sometimes, the colors would be inverted again, but most of the time, the screen would be black with the backlight shining through. I don't see anything broken about the mp3 player itself, and the screen isn't cracked at all

Have you taken it apart? It sounds like the LCD ribbon connector may be loose or have a bad connection, if it is connected via a ribbon type cable that is.

No, i haven't taken it apart at all. I didn't want to make it worse. I might try taking it apart later. It's obviously a physical problem since the video out still works perfectly

Did you buy it new from Bestbuy? Can you not exchange it?

I bought it from best buy last November or December, but I didn't get the replacement plan

It is still within the 1 year warranty then. It says on the warranty card that you just return it back there as long as you have the original receipt.
