Converting videos

Ok, my friend said that if you go on google video you can download the videos. I recently downloaded one. It was in a mp4 quicktime format. I tried to change it but I couldn't. When I tried to convert it to my Zen it says converting and then that window just disappears. Any help would be appreciated.

i used creative's media explorer 5 and it converted my videos automatically when i clicked 'transfer'
