so i am trying to fix my zen vision m i got from my friend and here is the situation.
it boots in recovery mode. clean up and format options operate correctly. also it says firmware problem on start up. i have uninstalled all creative software, uninstalled and reinstalled the device multiple times, and rolled back to WMP 10. so the computer will recognize the device but WMP or any firmware updater will not ??? what's next |

open the file (firmware) before you connect the player(after choosing reload firmware on the recovery screen) using rear usb port. choose language & it should run. (when the autoplay window opens ignore it)

You mentioned that you rolled back to WMP10, but make sure that the WMP11 runtime files are installed as well. Check the add/remove programs (check the show updates box). Also, maybe consider reinstalling WMP10 after you get it rolled back correctly and still not detecting.
