Changing fast forward speed?

Anyone know how to change the FFspeed on NS-DV2GC?

With my old mp3 player, if the file was playing, it would do a slow FF. When it was paused, you could do a really fast FF.

I listen to alot of long podcasts and I'd like to be able to jump forward and back in seconds rather than minutes.

If you're using 1.2 or higher firmware, you can quickly go forward and backward with the wheel. In 1.93, hold the Play/Pause button until the context menu appears, then select Wheel Seek. In 1.2, hold the Play/Pause button for about a second until the icon in the upper-left corner changes. Then spin the wheel to quickly go to wherever you want.

1.2 also adds variable speed Fast Forward and Rewind.

I have Firmware 1.2, but the wheel only seems to control the volume on the now playing screen? WhenI hold the play/pause button down, nothing happens. The icon in the upper left corner does not change.
