If you use a credit card you don't need a receipt. If you explain it to them they may be able to look up the transaction by your name. Sony may be able to help you under their warrantee coverage. I bought an A828 through Sony to get their accidental protection plan. BestBuy's protection plan has changed where they won't exchange them anymore, they take them and send them out for repair or replacement. Sony's plan is better than BestBuy's current protection plan; they both cost $50 for 2 years, but Sony's includes accidental coverage.
