This doesn't have to do with the "new" firmware, it is just me being an idiot.
I was trying to install knoppix on my computer, and was in the process of repartitioning. I noticed a windows partition, and nixed it. Turns out, my insignia NS-DV2G was connected, and I just deleted everything on it. Now, because remvoing the firmware also seems to make it unrecognizable by a computer, linux or windows, I can't think of anything to do about it. Anyone have any idea how to fix it? |

Format it using the player itself (Settings > System > Erase Internal Memory).

I can't. It won't move off of that screen, all the buttons are unresponsive. If I press the reset button it turns off, and then turning on the player will display the error message again. I also can't shut it off with the power button.

Hmm, it should move to the now playing screen... How long have you let it set there?

I let it sit there until it ran out of batteries, and nothing changed.
Right now it is charging again. |

Does it show up as a volume on your machine when plugged in? If so, format it in your system and then disconnect.

I'm getting this error, too, after the 1.2 upgrade, but my player itself seems to be behaving just fine, with the exception that it rebuilds the library on every boot.
ETA: Just discovered that while my microSD shows up as a storage device still, the player's built-in memory does not. Guess I'll be reformatting. Last edited by erinspice; 08-24-2008 at 10:00 PM. |

That is awesome. I had no idea this feature existed. I wonder how that guy found out?
