After taking one whole period to read this whole thread i have come to an understanding to just buy a p2 and then save up for a p4

Why not just save up for a p4? It's going to be up there in price, because it'll be higher end then the p3.

Well im definately buying the P3 it looks sick. I love how the buttons are on top now. To me the design looks more finished than the P2.

But I dont see the point of even mentioning the P4, it would just make people look more forward to something that could be extremely better than the P3. That generally would make people usually not want to buy the "lesser" player and wait for the "better" one which could hurt sales IMHO.

If consumers constantly lie in wait for the next this or that, they'd never buy anything.

Point: The Samsung P4 currently little more than 'Ghost Ware', and the P3 is here now (at least for some, and soon for all).

Being a rational thinking person, I'm going with what already exsists, rather than worrying about what doesn't.

Well I myself have come to some sort of understanding that samsung has a new mp3 each year
that being said im going to buy a p2 tommorow and then just wait out a p4 if it is not that great i will keep my p2

TBH I agree w/the BOTH of you. It's like the S9, even when it does come out, the P3 will still stand it's ground. And I'm not waiting for the S9 OR the P4. The P3 will be a solid update, and the P4 is still a pipe dream to be announced at least a year after the fact. 32gb P3 - WOOHOO!!!! Bring it ON BABY!!!

If it had GPS (I know, it's a long shot), then it would have some
competition in America. I don't see a real reason for replacing my P2 with this. The P2 is the best MP3 Player I have ever seen/owned, and there are not many reasons to dislike its audio quality. Samsung needs to be more innovative. I like most of their products, but they are not leaders, they're followers. Give me something different that stands out from everyone else, and then I will consider the P3.

Or Bluetooth GPS pairing at least. I know an Archos player can be made to work as a GPS with an add-on gadget but I'm not to sure on the details.

But it seems that nobody asked for seeing it.
For the moment, only my contact at Samsung France and Greg (gmp3 admin) saw it in reality. As for me I have a picture and some infos (more later probably)

Of course I can't share the picture because the P3 will only be announced at the CES in january.

What I can tell you today:
Mp3 players and mobilephone division in Samsung Korea merged.
So the P3 looks like the latest Samsung mobile phones (player addict, player style etc...)
That means there is a beautiful haptic touchscreen. And the interface looks like on mobiles phones with widgets.... So more customization than on P2.
The P3 looks like more robust as it is built in aluminium

There is no wifi (but we don't care, it is an mp3 player, not a computer) but unfortunately there is also no SD slot.
Still bluetooth.

And a DTT (Digital terrestrial television) version should be released in France
