Well i've been looking over this forum for some time now. Great info. Sucks that the Pilot is going away.
My screen cracked last week. So i bought a non powering pilot off ebay just for the good screen after being unable to find a new replacment. Well like most of you i'm sure, i tore a few of the tabs off the ribbon cable removing the good one *funny thing, i took my time removing the broken one and did it perfect, but got in a rush on the good screen*. So i'm out $30 now and have 2 broken players. I spent the past weekend looking for one. about 10 hours. Well. Just seeing if anyone has found a source for these screens as a new replacment yet?? ttt |

Man, i've been a copy tech for 10 years and havn't came across a ribbon cable i havn't been able to tame, but damn. This is one that must be done with a heat gun and pre preped joints. Not to mention taking your time. If i would have took the same time on the good screen as i did on the 'practice removal' of the broken one, it would have turned out alot better.
Just a Heads Up for anyone..... very very tricky.... |

Haha yep. I think I'll be buying another 4gb player and just going to swap the memory chip. Then pass it to my wife since she is not as picky about MP3 players. Then I will go on with my 16GB D2 :-D
