Does the Spinn have a built-in speaker? I see none mentioned in the review so I am thinking not (as the clix and clix2 did not).

It does not, BUT you can connect to a bluetooth speaker or headphone.
I did buy a bluetooth stereo headset from Jambra to get rid of the connector at the bottom of the player. Setting up the connection is very easy, so do not hesitate to look into this solution.

Does the bluetooth headset reconnect to the Spinn after you shut it down and power it back up or do you have to manually reconnect it?

At the moment I am using the Jabra BT320s bluetooth headset.
Setting the connection up has to be done just once, and is stored on the Spinn. After switching on the Jabra, the Spinn goes automatic in bluetooth mode and sends the sound to the headset. On the headset you can adjust the volume, set pause/start or go to next/previous track. I selected this model of bluetooth becource you can connent your own headset to the device via a standard 3.5mm stereo jack. The model has now upgraded to BT325s: see link http://www.jabra.com/Sites/Jabra/uk-...braBT325s.aspx |

The bluetooth reconnects after you turn it back on from Sleep. Notice I said 'Sleep', cause if you set the turn-off buttom as shutdown, then you have to manually wire the speaker and bluetooth together again. Though, its not that hard since the name is already saved on the Spinn.
If reset the player, too, (by pressing the 'reset' button on the back) then you have to manually do it, too. Its not much of a hassle, but if your really lazy to move your fingers across the screen of to spinn the dial with one finger, then you need to end your life. :P |
