Firmware upgrade for Sport NS-2V17

Does anybody know if there is a firmware upgrade in the works for the Sport NS-2V17 with bluetooth? Mine is on 1.008 and I wish Insignia would fix the pesky bookmark problem with a new firmware. I tried using the 2.04 firmware for the regular Sport and that did not work.

Tobey I love your positive attitude and I hate to be negative, but its a discontinued product and I don't think there going to cook up any new versions of the firmware, but you never know. This is the best mp3 player ive had, I'll soon write a review... but I need to get more acquainted with it.

Well, said that back in March when they had recently released a huge firmware update for the long discontinued NS-DV series. Things were looking a bit more positive back then.

Can someone go into a little more detail.. Like have you actually been able toinstall this firmware for the NS-2V17? I purchased the bundled Sport (with water Bottle and gift card) last night for $45 from best buy. It seems as though it doesn't have ogg support and this firmware update offers it. The updater doesn't seem to detect the player when plugged in though so I can't click upgrade. It never says it's "ready" even when I place in in file and folder mode like the update tells me.

Sorry, i'm using a Pilot. I just happened to stumble across the firmware update for the Sport.

All i can suggest is that you:
1. Make sure you have your library ready to put on your player again. I'm pretty sure firmware upgrades erase the internal memory. Try Reformatting your player and then attempt the upgrade again.

2. Use a different USB port. Sometimes my computer doesn't detect my Pilot, but if i switch USB ports, it detects it.

EDIT: Nevermind, apparently there are 2 different model numbers for the Sport; NS-xV17 and NS-DAxG . The firmware update is for the latter, so which is probably why it doesn't work for the former. Sorry
