Is Best Buy going under too? Why would they stop selling their name brand? Pretty soon there won't be any choices left (with Circuit City and Comp USA gone).... |

I bought 3 players total off ebay. My original that lasted me about a year and a half. The USB port broke because of cheaper plastic and me plugging it all the time.
Second Pilot that I bought was perfectly fine, but I sold it to a needing friend haha. Third one was bought with a broken screen. So Pilot's are not bad, it's just what I purchased was knowinlgy bad most of the time

I went to Best Buy today and they had 8GB Pilots for $100, but then I thought do I want to spend $100 a year for an mp3 player? Even though I loved it I can't see why the battery only lasts one year.
Does anyone have mp3 players that the battery lasts at least 2 years???? So frustrating shopping for mp3 players, Best Buy has a display, but the 2 Sansas were not working. The salespeople can't help you. So you are just driving yourself crazy trying to figure out which ones are any good. Other stores lock everything up and the display models don't work, so what good is it? |

My player has also started to quit charging, after a full charge I can get 10 minutes or so out of it if I'm lucky. Does taking out the battery and putting it back in seem to work?
Also, can anyone recommend a possible replacement? |

That idea of removing and reinstalling the battery is intriguing to me. But the instruction manual doesn't have instructions for that ("instructions are included with the new battery"). Anyone have a link for how to remove and reinstall the battery?
I've got the back cover off, but so far that's it. - Brian Q. |

Check Youtube for video on replacing batteries in the Pilot. I'm sure I saw one there though I did not check before posting here. Looked simple enough.

i have the Insignia Pilot 8 gig player purchased from Ubid.com. Initial charge was about 10 hours but the battery life is about 2.5 hours. I purchased another battery from ebay and got the same result? Any suggestions????

Any chance Blue Tooth is accidentally enabled? If you have not already done so I would go through all your settings to look for things enabled that might be drawing the battery down.

The battery from bestbuy.partsearch.com is "No Longer Available".

I've had my 8gig pilot for 14 months now. Screen is black, no visuals at all, but backlighting is still active...
Anyways, I tried running my Pilot without a battery and had it plugged into my mini USB AC charger. Functioned and played. Maybe all you need is a creatively designed AC adapter? |
