I have a NWZ-E426F and these are the settings I use to convert videos. Format Factory is free and has done an excellent job with any conversions (sometimes slower than I'd like, but I'm impatient). I have tried using both the MPEG4 video setting and the H264, but the MPEG4 setting results in a slightly smaller file. These are the settings I came across in the XML file on the unit itself.
Under Video, Select All to MP4 Select Output Setting Select Custom on the Profile dropdown menu and change settings to match: Video Stream Video Size=320x240 FPS=30 Bitrate (KB/s)=384 Video Encode=MPEG4 Keep Aspect=Yes Audio Stream Sample Rate (HZ)=44100 Bitrate (KB/s)=64 Audio Channel=2 Disable Audio=No Source Audio Channel=Default Select OK Select Add File to select the files you wish to convert Select OK Select Start to begin the conversion. Drag & Drop mp4 file to player under Video folder. That's it. "DVD to Video File" is just as easy with NON-PROTECTED DVDs. |
