Good news for Linux users!

No need for "built-in" support, anyone can install MTPfs.
I have installed it on my Kubuntu Gutsy ages ago.

I just wanted to report that it does indeed work pretty well. Not only can you communicate with an MTP player via command line (query status, transfer files, etc), but Amarok works pretty well with it also.

Just a bump for Gnome purists: MTP syncs using Gnome-based Exaile works beautifully, and possibly even better than in Amarok. So if you've been avoiding Amarok because it's KDE-based, give Exaile a try.

It's in the Synaptic package manager too, you just have to type it in..

Took me a week to start my zen on XP SP3... 2 minutes on Ubuntu ^-^
