It's cool to see these two compared compared, but...
There are so many fingerprints on those players, that they almost appear to be covered in leather. Maybe try using gloves before shooting the pics next time? |

Were the screens at different brightness?

I looked closer at some pictures on flickr and it seems like the left arrow lights up when viewing photos and the right when watching videos but it seems like the arrows aren't used for anything

Who cares, stfu, it matters for you to have an indication of the brighter of the two screens.

Interesting. If I didn't own a P2 I would jump on the P3, but I don't feel like paying ~200 for something I almost already have.

I don't have a P2, since the 16gb model wasn't released in the US (available on Amazon.com now ?). Since the P3 is gonna' top off @32gb, I'm sold!!!! Especially since that screen is so sweet, DAMN!!!!

The P3 looks very disappointing. It is exactly the same as the P2 except with widgits. Same menus? What's up with that? Come on Samsung!

The quwstion is can you use the EQ over Bluetooth? THat's what I'd like to know They should give the P2 a firmware update to allow this (that my biggest gripe).
I've only had it for a few weeks, not about to run out and get a P4 as soon ass it comes out. |

For all you people saying the P3's just a slight upgrade, consider a few of the changes
1. DNSe 3.0 - It recovers some of the sound quality lost from music 2. Haptic interface 3. Better power efficiency 4. Audio books - This is a biggie. I see people on Amazon.com b****ing and complaining about lack of audio book support support on Sony players. Since I felt giving 1-star reviews for Sony players just because of that was NOT fairly and objectively given, I reported the comments as inappropriate. 5. Flash file support - So the P3 can play flash files. But with wifi, imagine the possibilities this can lead to. If the P3 had really long battery life, a lower price tag, and WiFi, I would be really tempted to cancel my current order and get the P3 instead. While I'm on my study breaks, I'd be visiting newgrounds.com just to check out flash movies. ![]() Keeping all this in mind, this almost feels eerily as though the rumored P4 is prepping for WiFi support. It's one of the last major features that's needed to make it a perfect all-in-one player in my book. But alas, my current interest isn't in an all-in-one around this point in my life. I really love how the P3 has tempo control, allowing students to record lectures and replay them in slower or fast speeds. Indeed I may have need for such a function later on when I go to grad school. The only other player I know of that ranks up there with Sony and Samsung players that has this function is the iAudio 7. On top of that is the power consumption. Another person in another forum said that WiFi cuts down music listening time by half. That's a huge negative for me. This is why if I were in the market for a new player, I'd take the P3 over the Sony NWZ-X1000 (not yet out) any day. I don't need wifi on a portable device. My laptop is just fine for now, thank you very much. Last edited by zeth006; 01-28-2009 at 02:30 AM. |

The P3 has to mangage battery better as it's got a smaller one than the P2. DNSE and EQ don't work over bluetooth nor over the P3's onboard speaker. FM doesn't either, but at least it will continue playing outside it's own app. You can listen to FM while looking at photos, text for example.

The best excuse would be to record the lecture you're at for a friend or roommate who misses the class. Of couse not all lectures are worth repeating.

That or just run podcasts. I might find myself doing that later on.
