Creating a Playlist or Playlists on the U3 - how I did it.

To create a playlist on the Samsung U3:

Open Samsung Media Studio
The blue banner near the top of the screen shows
My PC, Playlists, Datacasts, CD, Portable.
Click on Playlists.
Below and to the left you will see titles such as Exercise, Study, Driving, Party, and Meditation.
At the very bottom right, click the button "NewPlaylists". Give it a title.
Double click on the playlist you have created.
Open a folder on your hard drive containing the songs you wish to add to the playlist.
Select, drag and drop them into the open playlist in Samsung Media Studio.

In the right half of the Samsung Media Studio window, click on the " Portable" tab.
Just below it, click on the button with the right - pointing blue arrow to transfer the playlist to the U3.
