My computer won't read my mp3 player unless I force it into MSC mode. That's never been a problem, I lock it and hit left as I plug it in, and then when I unplug it my music is always still visible in the player menu. Yesterday I forgot to right-click/eject and just unplugged the View from the usb cable. Now none of my music is showing up on the device!! But when I plug it into my computer, all of it is there in the music folder. How do I access the music on my player when it's NOT plugged into my computer - like when I'm on the subway on the way to work??!!

Hm, the mark of a good techie is our ability to translate our languege to enligh so I will attempt to do so here. Sounds like you have two issues here. One is the view not showing your music which is trouble some, call San Disk's tech support sounds like the brain is having dificulty and the whole unit will need to be replaced. The other is those usb ports, try plugging some other usb item in and see if that works. You may have a dead usb ports, I have seen this before in this sort of situation.

the usb can't be dead or it wouldn't read my mp3 player when it's plugged in right? the player works fine when plugged in, I know the music is there (because I can play ig on my comp) but I can't access the music when I UNplug it

Try Formating your memory card.
This can be done from the device or under windows. |

![]() SO at this point, I still say....Correct, the port doesn't seem to be the problem. With other Sansa players, you can do a reset by holding the power up for about 30 seconds(it will shut off) And then when you turn it back on, a lot of times it seems to help. Maybe you should try this.
