Issues scrolling left to right

I'm having problems with my Zen V scrolling l-r, it works to jump from track to track, but I can't scroll within the track or seek with in the track at all.

After searching the forums here and googling, I've opened it up to clean the joystick and I've updated everything that I can update with no success. I attempted to check the function in Recovery Mode, but there isn't anywhere to scroll l-r in Recovery Mode.

I'm out of ideas, does anyone have any suggestions??

For the record- my Zen is pretty much new- it's barely been used at all.

From an earlier post of mine:

The Zen may need a new control board/pad. However, I believe the joystick is mounted to the mainboard. So it is possible a new mainboard would be needed if the joystick can't be replaced. You can try taking the lower part of the case off to take a look and see if there any visual indications of the joystick being bad/loose. Here are a couple of videos of the disassembly here and here.

Since it is new, is it still under any kind of warranty? Consider this.
