Did you try a different set to see if it's the player or the buds? If it's the buds (which it probably is) thats easy Buy new buds.

Now is your chance to step it up a notch.

What buds are they? Are they the ones that came with the Zen? The cable connections tend to be very weak with stock phones.

If you can order online, go for the SoundMagic listed in the thread provided above. If you can't, goto radioshack and get KSC75 for like 5 bucks.

If it's your player, idk... get a sansa clip for 42 bucks at wal-mart?

Going in the other direction..... if other headphones do the same, does moving around the connection or the headphone jack cause any changes in the audio?

OK... so your problem is solved!! Here's the help you requested :
1. Turn on your computer
2. Stop looking at that shiney thing and continue reading this
3. Go to http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ead.php?t=8404
4. Stop looking at that shiney thing!!!
5. Pick something from the list of headphones

I doubt it was static electricity, but I guess it could be. Headphones are pretty resilient to static electricity. Then again, when you buy and use poor quality, cheap headphones, it could be anything.
