Default A/V out problem: audio but no picture

I just tried to use my Zen on a TV. The audio worked but the video did not show up. I am using a cable that has worked in the past. I have tried multiple TVs. I tried another cord that I hadn't used before, and it didn't work either. My best guess is that it's a problem with the dongle connector because the Zen's screen says "Switching to A/V out display" (or something to that effect) but nothing comes onto the TV. Another possibility might be damage from dropping it from a height of at least 3 feet more than a few times. It's held up great other than this if it is the cause.

Any info would be great!

Thanks

In the 'system' menu, 'photo/video settings' menu, then 'video out'....Is it set to either Auto NTSC or Auto PAL, whichever one is applicable to you (NTSC=North America)?

Darn, no dice on that. It was already set to NTSC. Thanks for the reply though!

With drops involved, it can be a little hard to determine the cause. I would still try another AV cable; a known working one to rule it out. Any chance a friend has another ZVM with a sync adapter to try? You can also consider purchasing another sync adapter. They are fairly inexpensive.

You can also try changing the AV Out setting a few times to reset the signal:

Main Menu -> System -> Photo/Video Settings -> Video Out = Off. Then On again....
