Has anyone found a better case than the ones from Cowon?
I have the hard case, and the leather case from Cowon, but both are not good for my clothes. I can't put it in my pocket, since I would crack the display. Knowing me, it would happen the first day I did that. What I am looking for is a case I can put on my belt and have a flap on it to keep it somewhat protected. I have a screen protector, so the inside isn't that critical wrt the lining of the case. I want it off my lanyard - it swings like a pendulum ready to strike anything hard it can find and looks rather stupid with this large rectangular thing hanging around my neck. I want it on my hip where I can keep it out of harms way. I found one at a local mall kiosk that was $22 but didn't "quite" fit the player. I would have had to work the leather to make it close. Not interested unless it will close correctly. Please post links, and pics if you have something, anything! Please! |

im waiting for my leather case from noreve to come in atm ill let you know how it goes, it looks really nice im just hoping there is room to stick a pda stylus in there so i dont need to goofy kickstand one that comes with the O2 dangling around.
http://www.noreveusa.com/product/Cow...ther_case.html i believe the metal clip which can be seen on their front page also works with this case http://www.noreveusa.com/product/Bel...n_-_Metal.html I havent received mine yet so i cant tell you whether its worth the money or not yet

Thanks! I think I saw this before, but the $54 price tag scares me since I put $25 down on the Cowon case...!!
One interesting point of note is that the Noreve cases, found at: http://www.noreveusa.com/static_cont...contents_id=20 Quote:
http://www.noreveusa.com/static_cont...contents_id=10 Anyway, great product, I hope. Please let me know when you get yours to let me know the details. If I'm going to plunk that much dough down for something it better be good. It already sounds better than the Cowon case since it is real leather! I "thought" or "ass-u-me-d" that the Cowon case was leather, but is a cheaper immitation. In any event, if anyone else has a different case, I'd love to know. Thanks. UPDATE: They just modified the site to correct the above issue with their larger cases that do not offer a belt clip option. It now reads: Quote:

Well, I sent an email to the Noreve marketers asking about whether a clip was available for the O2 case, and in their original reply, it sounded like they were talking only about the player.
I responded asking to clarify, and the Noreve customer support person replied: Quote:
I'm bummed out now.

I think the leather case is fine....put the O2 in that and slip that in your pocket...that's what I do. In my opinion the O2 is extremely portable, with or without a case just cos it slips in a pocket so nifty like. I am a bit confused though? Why would you put the O2 in your back pocket where you'll sit on it? It can't get sat on in a front pocket can it?

Taking it out of my pocket in the front to turn it off, pause it for talking to someone will be more inconvenient, I guess. Back pockets are just easier than front.
A lanyard isn't so bad if I'm walking around in a store, it just looks a little bulky is all. I'm trying to lose a bit of weight so my pants give me a bit more room, too. :-) I'll have to get more T-shirts with pockets in the front. That would be better than my pants, anyway. |

OK, everyone has his/her own way. What I do is stick the O2 in my front jeans pocket and stuff my hand deep whenever I want to fiddle with volume or skip tracks. but it would be nice for there to be a belt clip....i wouldn't need it but clearly some do.

I also found another site that has a great belt clip case... I have this type for my cellphone, and the clip on these cases are second to none. I even find them hard to take off at any time. A very solidly built case. I'll head out to the local Bass Pro Shops and see what they have.
There are two options on this site: http://www.niteize.com I think they are available at The Outdoor Store aka. Bass Pro Shops The Backbone size 20: ![]() Or the Sport Case Mobile Device Holder but the size may be a tad too short for the 4.7" high O2. This case states it supports a 4.8" device.

yea got my case in and have had it for a couple of days now, i gotta say it is a really nicely made case.
Sadly as you already found out, there is no belt clip which i was kinda sad about. But it is still a very nice case and there is enough room to slide a stylus in it to(i had a palm stylus stuck into the business card holder) other then that is goes right into my pocket. And the problem with nearly all universal cases you lose any plus side of having it on your belt. Because you have to pull the player out of a case to change things. I also believer making a fairly simple belt mount using string/wire/small metal bar on the norever case is very possible since there is enough room to slide a stylus smoothly in under the bottom(the side of the player opposite the volume buttons)
