Default Clicking sound coming from hard drive

Hey everyone

Just got my zvm. Its great except I've noticed some clicking sounds coming from the hard drive. Is this natural? Should i be worried about this?
Anyone else have this sound?
It happens when the backlight goes dim.

Please help me ease my mind

Thanks Zee

All hard drives make noise, some more than others. If you player is working just fine i dont think you have anything to worry about.

I hear clicking or whinning from almost all of my HDD based MP3 players

Then it is possible that it is your hard drive. If the sound is more prominent than most hard drive then that would be my best guess. I once opended up a Zen Xtra with that same problem... it was the hard drive. So i opened up the hard drive and put the swing arm back in place... and it was fixed!

Total luck though... i wouldnt try it... take it back... or if you cannot send it to creative they have one year warrenties

yeah, mine clicks and whirrs alot when its doing stuff, i usually work to fast for it and end up freezing it, but yeah, the clicks and the whirring is nothing to be afraid of. i had an external hard drive for my comp, and thatr got busted....along with 10,000+ songs from my music collection , but that made an awful lot of ....unhealthy noise when it broke.
