In the following thread someone claims that the Clip has better FM reception than the FUZE:
http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ad.php?t=42507 (see post 4) I'm considering buying a Fuze and radio reception is an important feature for me. I prefer the Fuze over the clip because of its microSDHC expansion slot. How is the radio reception on the Fuze? I don't need great SQ over radio, but I need decent reception. I had to return a Cowon D2 bacause it did not receive ANY stations in San Francisco. Is there anyone else who has both and can compare?

If I'm not mistaken, the radio signal reception depends entirely on the phones position, and not the player, therefore the clip or fuze radio reception should be the same.

The V1 clip and fuze use the same radio, so I doubt theres any difference. A V1 clip against a V2 Fuze could give different results though if they changed the radio around.

The headphone cord is the antenna, IIRC.....I know I got much better reception using a set of phones with a longer cord that wasn't well suited for portable use.

And for me, using an external amp with a very short jumper, I only get the strong stations in the area, unless I unplug the jumper and run the 'phones direct to the DAP.

I hadn't used the FM in quite a while, but you are correct on this one....the little cable going from Clip to FiiO which is maybe 5" long, gives terrible reception....I think if I did listen to the radio frequently, I wouldn't bother with the amp anyways though.

I think re these suggestions you should be fine with the Fuze. I know what you mean about the D2- I could only ever get a handful of stations, and none of them in stereo- didn't matter which firmware I put on it.
