Where can I buy a 8 gb V2 Fuze on the Internet?

OK I just screwed up the headphone jack on my 8 gig V1 Fuze and am looking to replace it asap with a V2!

Where is the best place online to purchase a 8gb Fuze V2?

I should also add that I am looking for a good price!

I want to order it tonight so please respond asap so that i can maybe get it shipped to me this week!

Honest answer? The only way to guarantee you're getting a v2 Fuze is to open the packaging, turn on the player, and check the firmware version. Sorry, but Sandisk hasn't been consistent enough in their packaging or casing to trust any surface clues. If you're stuck buying blind on the internet, you'll likely have to purchase one used from a seller who can confirm the firmware version (via ebay, for example).

Why would anyone want a V2 Fuze when Rockbox for the V1 is nearing its completion?

And for those not interested in Rockbox, why would you care which version it was? Aren't the different FW's set up to operate the same way?
That said, my Fuze is a V1, and I am considering RB.

I was just kidding of course, and not everyone might be interested in Rockbox... but yeah, there should be no discernible difference for the end user between a v1 and v2 Fuze, AFAIK. I guess Sandisk just switched suppliers or found cheaper parts to manufacture for the v2, thus a change in the firmware. Just a guess though.

I was affraid that would be the case and that explains why I was unable to find a 8gb fuze v2 through google! Oh well!

Does the FW for the V2 start with a different number or something like that?

I already ordered it and I know I will be happy with either or! But I did read somewhere on this forum i thought that the V2 is less glitchy and the sq is a smidge better! Really this was the only reason i asked! But all is well any Fuze is better then no fuze at all!

I'm a very regular reader of these forums, especially on the Clip and Fuze. I don't recall any complaints about the V2 firmware. But then my memory isn't as good as it used to be.

I have both versions. You will not go wrong with either version. But as other posters have already mentioned, the advantage of version 1 is Rockbox in the future.
