Hi,
My gmp3 test is almost finished but I don't have a bluetooth headset to test it. If someone uses one with the P3, please answer these questions: 1) Are DNSe disabled? 2) How is the sound quality? 3) Do you have background noise as on the P2? Thanks in advance

DNSE won't work over bluetooth or the onboard speaker. I don't own a P3 yet, but it's user manual make that clear. I can't speak to your other questions.

1) DNSe disabled
2) depends on your bluetooth headset, i take the SCS740, really good. so you can take you P3 to buy a fitted bluetooth headset to works well for you. 3) during my test, no background noise, but i havn't P2, so no comparation |

Thank you for your feedback.
I'm personally convinced that the sound via bluetooth is worse though

When you say "worse", is it just a little worse? From 1 to 100 is bluetooth audio on the P3 what percentage in quality lesser than headphone jack audio on the P3? Any chance the same headphones were used for the comparison? Since bluetooth headphones are usually not the same ones you use for wired listening, has anyone done a scientific comparison?

The sound quality sounds fine to me when using both my BT Motorola headhones and Sony speakers.
However, it seems to lose connection quite often, maybe every 3-4 songs sometimes, and doesn't reconnect automaticaly (does on both the above), even when sitting just 1-2 feet away from the headphones/speakers. |

All the sound settings work just the same over bluetooth. I was a little surprised as I know that with the T10 some were disabled.
It sounds fantastic- I think it adds to the sound using some of the DnSe effects using bluetooth speakers; I haven't tried it with a headset, but imagine it to be comparable with sony players in terms of bluetooth audio quality. Last edited by Dreamnine; 03-14-2009 at 10:05 AM. |

No, unfortunately, because the headphone wires act as an antenna.

DNSe works with bluetooth speakers and wired headphones, so should work with bluetooth headsets too if it's A2DP profile (advanced audio [stereo audio]).
My bluetooth headset is made for mobile phones so has a mic and p3 only sees it as a mono bluetooth headset so can't test for you. Sorry. However, sound is phenominal with DNSe and audio upscaler with 128Kbit CBR mp3's. And yeah, wired headphones required for FM tuner. No built in antenna understandably. Wired headphones make for a better antenna than a small built in unit would. |
