Default How powerful is the p3?

not processor power or anything, but how well does it power headphones. I know the d2 was one of the more powerful players, so how does this compare (thats targeted at you Dreamnine )
How well do you think it would be able to power some cheapish headphones, eg hd201? Or anyone know of any budget headphones it can power unamped?
(as an e5 would be 20 out of my 25 headphone budget )

It powers my grados fine- it's loud enough, believe me, I have to remind myself to turn the volume down. It doesn't have any problems with EU volume limitation like some Sonys.
The D2- I don't know how it would compare, I never used full size phones with the D2, but I used my cx300s at 8 or 9, and a similar, low level on the P3.
It's louder than my Zen ever was.
It has street-mode for extra loudness and the volume normaliser for those acoustic numbers about your cat dying..

I have the S9, I had the D2, and I have a Q2. All seem able to power my 60ohm Sony MDR-V6's w/no problems. The Q2 is a Samsung player, and it's pretty similar in sq and volume output to the P3. I'd say it'd be more than adequate for your needs.

Thanks for the answers
and kudos to dreamnine for picking up on my normaliser example

EDIT: Anyone know if it would drive a set of HD201s? Or hd 202s? I have a 25 amazon voucher, so either of those and a silicon case for my p3 (when it finally comes out) would be a great little investment imo. I'm guessing it would, but worth checking anyway.

The 201's will be fine. ive the hd205 and 485 and they are more than loud enough without an amp.

My P3 comes tomorrow, i will test it , until now the most powerfull dap is Samsung S5, which is beat Cowon D2, i use beyerdynamics Dt770 250 ohm for head to head tested (without amp), Samsung S5 is the only dap that i cannot hold for max volume, even D2 my ears still can hold using max volume 50

You could try some Sennheiser PX100 Headphones. They are pretty good, least i think so. from amazon for 29...... or PX200, depends if you like open or closed back.
