Default Yet another album art issue, WMA format, synced with WMP

I've been reading around and lurking and realized that the P3 has some album art issues. However, most of these seem to point at FLAC and OGG formats primarily. Well, I got me a P3 today. (very impressive device, EQ and DNSe blew me away) I use Windows Media Player and sync mostly WMA files, with a few MP3's mixed in. Only 2 or 3 albums have art, a couple of which I had to manually add art because they were not major releases/names media player would recongnize. Is there a fix to this? Or will I have to wait for another firmware update (I just got 2.14 on it now)

Thanks.

I'm not experience using WMP but generally speaking if the artwork is not saved to the tag it will not work. I have had WMAs display album art fine though... you may have to use an alternative program like MediaMonkey or MP3Tag to sort out your art work...

Well I know the artwork is tagged to the files. Just the player isn't showing it. It shows up in WMP when I look at what is on the player, which is a good sign. But the player just does not display it.

It's not the P3's problem - WMP is shit, to be blunt. Practically everyone who has synced with it has had album art issues- and sometimes it decides to alphabetize the songs.
Make sure your tags are ok (album art 450x450 or less) then drag and drop your music.

Windows media player can be a real pain with album art: I've had CDs where only one song has the art, and other irritating cock ups. Using MediaMonkey will resolve problems, and I even found that if I put the album art on using the Zune media player (my playback music program) and then copy the songs across the album art is there. So yeh, WMP is pretty much the worst main stream media player ><

OK, I shall check the tags.
Only reason why I use WMP is the on comp playback, I like it a lot more than most media players.
Funny, it never really messes up on me, except now with this syncing. It would sync art to my Zen just fine...

Can you use Mp3Tag to tag files already on the device?
You can try- I took all my files off before tagging. 450 x 450 is the maximum, though. Sometimes mp3tag returns search results bigger than that, so you may need to resize. Once all your album art is done, though, you can enjoy your P3. It took me ages with Mp3tag but has definitely been worth it. The album art looks great, and with 2.14 firmware the coverflow works smoothly and well,

All right.
You can't tag things in it, so I'll delete everything on there and find artwork.

Anyone use SongBird to sync a P3?

Most people don't bother with a media program. Media Monkey is quite good, though. Avoid Emodio- it just screws everything up.. And makes you angry.

I used WMP to add the album art to my own files. i use mp3's though but i do have a small handful of WMA files from ages ago that ive not bothered changing. Although WMP shows the art for the WMA's it obviously isnt tagging them with it as opposed to the mp3's. All the mp3 art shows up fine in the p3 and the WMA'S are blank. I certainly wouldnt sync it to WMP. I did once and it messed everything up, rearanging files and folders. I cant get Mp3Tag as i cant find a version of it for Ubuntu. Id to use a friends windows machine to use WMP which i hate. I tried EasyTAG which does add the art but it shows up corrupted on the p3.

You could use the Emodio software the group tag artwork or try Mp3tag software.

No one should use emodio, it really sucks. I tried it but it kept coming back with wrong cover art from obscure compilation albums etc. then it kept crashing to..lol. I would use Mp3Tag but ive not been able to find a Linux version of it.

Mp3Tag works well for drag n drop
MediaMonkey works well for syncing.
With MM it has quite a neat album art lookup feature. Then make sure you choose 'sync album art to tags' under the P3/Device options!

Another reason not to use EmoDio: the service is going to be discontinued on the 26th of June. Or at least that's what the popups keep telling me when I go on the EmoDio site... Shame they didn't try to improve upon it...
