Hey,
Sorry if this might be a stupid question but I've been browsing the forums and haven't found the solution... My YP-P3 is updated to firmware 2.14 - but for whatever reason- every video file I try and copy over it whines about not being the right file-type and refuses to let me copy it (forcing me to "skip") the file. I've tried just about everything on the planet and think that my windows explorer is jigged up or something. Anyone know what to do or have encountered this? I bought this with the hopes of watching some movies and its been frustrating to not have any way of getting them on it. Otherwise I love this player- I mean it completely rocks except for the software issues. |

Can you give us any info of the file types your putting on there (xvid, H264)? Do you know the resolution? Are they DRM protected? The only times I have known videos not to play is because the resolution is too high...
Oh, is it saying something like ' file is outside device limits ' or trying to get you to convert it when you're actually trying to put the file on the P3? If it is, just switch the P3 to UMS mode, videos should load on fine. Its Windows fault... Last edited by robjrock; 06-06-2009 at 11:44 AM. |

I guess the resolution is too high- I ended up converting them to svi using EmoDio - but the one extra step of conversion is a bit of a hassle. Oh well-

Was it allowing you to copy them onto the device at all?

What are the actual file types you were using though? There might just be a simple solution rather than having to use that emodio rubbish to convert them.

With an .AVI file you need to compress it. I usually use the DivX codec...
