For FLAC and unprotected AAC, does the P3 read the id3 tags of unprotected AAC files?
From a review here : http://www.everythingusb.com/samsung-yp-p3-16329.html , it appears that id3 tags for AAC and FLAC arent read. Is that still true or is it fixed now with new firmwares? |

I'd hazard a guess that flac support is for flac native tags only. id3 on flac isn't a native option of flac, it's a forced option by third party programs.
So more than likely, Samsung stuck with flac's own standards of flac tags (modified vorbis tagging). And stayed away from the unsupported forced ID3 tags of flac. |

What about AAC? Are AAC id3 tags supported?

I don't know. Rarely use AAC and so don't know what tagging they use natively. Nor have I seen anything in my general travels about third party id3 tagging of AAC like I have for FLAC.
If ID3 is not typically used with AAC then odds are against the P3 supporting ID3 on AAC. But I can't really say definitively. |
