Lightbulb Upgrading internal memory??

Is it possible to upgrade the internal memory on an e280 v1 to a compact flash card? I noticed the memory is detachable on youtube - it's not soldered to the board. However, another compact flash card might be too big, or the connector might not be the same.

I've searched all around the forums and you tube but can't find any specific answers. So, I'm wondering if you guys have some answers!

No, a CF card would be in no way compatible.

He probably had a corrupt file system. The largest possible internal storage is 8GB. If it reports more, you have a problem

Not possible... There's only one connector for memory. You can freely swap e200 v1 series' memory with another, but combining two players' worth is not physically possible.

Whether the memory itself is technically the same or not, I do not know - but regardless of that it's not removable in the v2.

AFAIK, the v2's memory is soldered to the board, whereas the v1 is attached via a pinned connector.

so if one wanted to, one could increase the memory in his v1 player with memory out of another v1 player..??. Hmmm....my v1 e250 looks alot better all of a sudden.

I guess that is a right assumption. I just detached the memory and replaced it, wasn't very hard to do.
Might be interesting if you could buy a memory bank from Sansa, but I don't think they will sell them to private persons.

well getting memory from Sandisk would be impossible now since they discontinued the e200 series players well over a year ago. My only avenue now would be Ebay I guess. Might be worth a try.
