There's no blank microsd included but with a card inserted it shouldn't really get any more dust or sand inside than any other player with an expansion slot. I'd be more worried about getting it in through the micro usb port

Don't know about the new/upcoming Sony Es, but the current ones seem to have some quality problems. I don't own one, but that's the gist of the comments in the Sony forum. E=economy.

I'm wondering, is the EQ beneficial instead of detrimental w/the clip+? My clip sounds horrible when I use it, is the clip + better?

Sansa's designs seem to be getting better and better.

The Clip+ is downright smexy

I just tried out the various EQ presets and I must say that, I prefer the "Normal" (flat) preset and would almost always stay at that setting. The other presets seem to take something away from the sound, rather than really adding to it. The Extra Bass setting might be favored by some, but adds a heaviness and cloudiness overall onto the sound.

So in other words, same as the previous Clip?

Have to be honest: I don't use the Clip's EQ, preferring the flat setting. (Every now and again, I'll use a custom EQ.) I assume the quality of the Clip+'s EQ presets is in the neighborhood of that of the original Clip's (although the Clip+ has more presets, including an Extra Bass and Extra Treble preset). Sorry ...

I'm getting one of these as soon as is practicably possible - even if I have to harass, bully and intimidate local store staff.

What you are describing is the same behavior as the previous Clip.....it is vastly better at the flat setting. I only ask because 3 out of the 4 headphones I use regularly sound just fine on Clip "Normal", but the other pair, I won't use with the Clip at all, because they need some EQ help, which is one of the only things the Clip fails at.

Usually at the same time. I was one of the first people to buy an 8gb clip on the sandisk forum. Couldn't find any reference to this on any UK site though... I'm gonna be miffed if we don't get it soon

How does folder play work on the Clip+ in MSC mode?

If I name a bunch of MP3s in a folder 001.mp3, 002.mp3, 003.mp3, etc, would they play in numerical order?

Or would they play in alphabetical order based on the tag info, or some other order entirely?

Just like on your computer: numerical/alpha order based on file name, when in folder view.
