Default "Seek To" question

I haven't had much trouble with figuring out the Zen V Plus's many features, but I'm a bit puzzled by this one. In the Creative Zen Vision :M review it says "Rather than scanning through the entire track, [seek to] allows you to stop the music and scroll to the part of the track you want." The Zen V Plus manual says:

Searching within a track

You can search for a particular point within a track and start playing from there. For example, if you want to start playback one minute into a music track, you can pinpoint or seek to the one minute position and then play from there.

In the Now Playing screen, press and hold the Back/Options button and select Seek To.

Push the 5-way Navigation Joystick right or left to scroll to any point within the current track.

Press the 5-way Navigation Joystick to start playing from the selected position.
___________

When I do this a little placemarker symbol appears as does the "pause" symbol, and the music stops. But, when I scroll right or left instead of remaining in the current track, I'm taken to the next or previous track.

This shouldn't be rocket science; so what am I doing wrong?

Sorry it's been so long. I only check in here occasionally -- usually if I have a problem.

The procedure you outlined in your original post works for me. The only way I can make it work so that it jumps to the next (or previous) track is to apply downward pressure to the joystick as I move it left or right to change location in the track. This downward pressure seems to select the current location in the track, bumping the Zen V Plus back into normal operation, and then the left or right pressure changes tracks.

If you're certain that you aren't accidentally applying downward pressure to the joystick it may be that you have a defective, overly sensitive, switch.

Good luck!
