I'm looking for a media player with an FM transmitter. Does the Archos perform well, or can you suggest something better for me? Cheers to all!

In just testing mine for you, I've discovered it one area where Archos still needs to do some work. Activating the FM transmitter on mine basically made the media player freeze up. So no, don't buy the Archos 5 for that capability. There are several Latte branded players with FM transmitters. Target.com is selling them. They work best if when broadcasting the earphones are plugged in to serve as antenna.

I would definitely NOT recommend the Archos 5 for the FM Transmitter! I owned it and played with it for two weeks, and I can say the times that it doesn't freeze up, the signal is so bad, you could hear i better on the speakers. If you have any other questions you can let me know, I tried and tested almost everything on it! P.S. I had the 16 GB Flash. Hoped this helps!

Thanks for the prompt replies; I think I will purchase a separate FM transmitter and use my P2. It's too bad Archos can't pull it all together. On the spec sheet it looks like an awesome PMP, but the hardware is poorly executed and it seems disappointing. Hopefully a firmware update will solve all of the Archos 5 IMT's idiosyncrasies, but a separate FM transmitter will suffice.
