My Creative Zen Vision M was working great but when I turned it on today it started to rebuild and only did so for a short time before it went back to a song. Then I noticed that most of the books on tape that I have were no longer on the player. I connected it to a computer to attempt to download some things but although it appears to be docked I cannot do so. I tried it on 2 different computers with the same following results:
1) Device manager indicated a "Creative Zen" but with a yellow exclamation mark. When I double click on it I get the message "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" 2) I went into setup mode and did a clean and reboot but this did not solve the problem. 3) I tried to download the drivers but was not able to. 4) On one computer I uninstalled the device but was not able to re-install it with "Add hardware" 5) When I attempt to reset the player it will indicate "rebuilding" but the green line will only go a short distance to the right (like 1/8 ") and then will go to the main menu without finishing rebuilding. Any one have any ideas? Thanks! |

If the player is not rebuilding the library the hardrive has probably failed. You would need to install another one. This would also give a code 10 error.

Would I have to buy a generic hard drive or a specific one with the creative software already installed? Any idea on the best way to find one? Thanks!
