i used to have a samsung p2 the but i got sony walkman s638f, since my p2 broke, and i found the walkman's sound quality to be better than the p2's especially the base. So I was wondering that if any1 has used any newer or even just the walkman I have and samsung p3, if they can tell me who's sound quality do they think is better - p3 or walkman

Just sound quality cant stress it enough

I don't have a p2/3, but I've had some surprises with my sony e345.

I sometimes learn songs to perform, thus when I like a song I want to hear all the words, but they are not always clear. Certain songs I've listened to over and over (on CD), and usually back up and listen a few extra times focusing and turning up the volume to try to make out the words. No joy!

Then with the e345 I listened to the same songs, out of the same very high quality speakers, only played once (on shuffle) while I was focused on plowing snow, and I heard the missing words instantly, first time, and without trying. This did not happen just once.

This astounds me! The sony player was loaded with the same CD's I'd been playing over and over, using .WAV (space wasting, but lossless) files.

I did not use any effects to help, no "clear sound" or whatever it is. Just flat.

Just sound quality, I couldn't agree more!

If I were getting a new player I'd wait for the M1. Supposedly it sounds the same as the P3 with DNSe3 but it has the AMOLED screen.

Either way Samsungs EQ enhancements are a bit better than Sonys.

ye i know sony just isnt paying attention to its core where it came out from - walkman sad but i gotta move on ... :`( ye i guess i'll wait till m1 comes out thanx dooods

I owned 3 generations of Walkman.. I have to say the P3 is much better to me.. specially with the DNSE.. but it also depends on what headphones ur using.. cuz I find the P3 better with my Shure SE530 than the Ultimate Ears 5 Pro..
